Why is Turmeric so beneficial?
There are many different forms of Turmeric, each having their own benefits and respective histories within Chinese and Indian medicine. The therapeutic properties are attributed to the vivid yellow-orange pigments (curcuminoids) present in turmeric. They are believed to have powerful antioxidant properties (significantly more so than vitamins E or C), and may increase the body’s ability to neutralise free radicals before they damage healthy cells and cell membranes. Turmeric has also been known for its role in prevention or alleviation of an impressive array of skin conditions such as itchy skin. Studies show that Turmeric may also be useful in reducing inflammation particularly for arthritis and joint pain.
What is Turmeric Alleppey?
Turmeric Alleppey has a naturally high curcumin content and the deepest flavour compared to other Turmeric types such as Madras (the most common turmeric sold). Turmeric Alleppey can be combined with black pepper and coconut oil which may maximise its benefits and make it easily digestible.
